Abstract(in English) | We design an E-plane horn-fed hollow waveguide slot array antenna for a channel sounder in the 150 GHz band. Since we require microfabrication, the antenna is fabricated by laminated thin-plate diffusion bonding. The radiating elements on the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide are uniformly excited by a standing wave. They are designed for a wide bandiwth by double resonance with overloading. The radiating element is designed as a modified I-shaped slot so that it does not cut into the broad walls. Gaps are introduced between plates to form the triangular corner and wall to suppress the reflection in the feeding part. The antenna for one sector, which consists of four rectangular waveguides, has S11 less than -10 dB over 156.7 GHz~159.4 GHz. The main polarization component of the realized gain is 24.8 dBi at the boresight. The beam width is 4.8°, which is narrow. The cross polarization is less than -45.3 dB around the boresight and is sufficiently suppressed. |
