Abstract(in English) | Optical linear-discriminant-analysis filter is a diffractive optical element with a large number of pinholes on the surface, and can perform operations equivalent to linear discriminant analysis by interference of diffracted light transmitted through the pinholes. Since it can directly process reflected and transmitted light from objects, it can discriminate three dimensional objects as well as two-dimensional images. In the process of filter design, it is necessary to accurately simulate the diffracted waves after transmission through the filter. While analyses based on vector diffraction theory are highly accurate, they can hardly perform for filters with the size of several thousand times larger than the wavelength because of the considerable amount of computational resources. In this study, we propose an algorithm that performs calculations efficiently using the finite-difference time-domain method and an integral expression formula for vector electromagnetic fields. |
