Abstract(in English) | It is well-known that underwater acoustic communications (UWACs) play an important role for underwater mobile communications. However, UWACs suffer from time selectivity due to Doppler shifts and frequency selectivity due to delay spread, because speed of sound is 1/200000th that of light, where these channel environments are called doubly-selective environments. First, this paper discusses features and issues of UWACs. Next, in order to solve these issues, this paper proposes differential OFDM employing a phase offset insertion scheme for each subcarrier (SPO), multiple differential detection with channel prediction and parallel blind demodulation with respect to different re-samplers. Finally, computer simulation results confirm that the proposed differential OFDM has excellent performance in severe doubly-selective channel environments of UWACs. |
