Dynamic Path Planning for QoS Improvement in Multiple Automated Guided Vehicles

Abstract(in English) Logistics business process including material handling, which is the transportation of products and ma- terials using automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in indoor factories, are expected to play an important role in smart factories. In particular, while the utilization of wireless communication technology in smart factories is expected in Industry 4.0, it is essential to guarantee communication quality in harsh indoor propagation environments where many metallic objects are placed. This paper proposes a path planning method for AGVs that combines global and local optimization with the aim of achieving high communication quality in material handling. Simulation results provide the high communication quality achieved by the proposed algorithm compared to the benchmark algorithms.
