Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a compressed-sensing-based method to estimate the relative permittivity of material filled in a thin waveguide. In the proposed method, two feeding slots are placed at both ends of the waveguide, and relative permittivity estimation is performed by applying compressed sensing to the frequency characteristics of the complex transfer function S21 between the slots. Moreover, the thin waveguide suppresses the excitation of undesired modes. The numerical analysis of the relative permittivity in the range of 1 to 3.5 revealed the presented method can estimate the relative permittivity within an error rate of approximately 15%.
