Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Landslide disasters caused by torrential rains and typhoons have brought extensive damage. Unmanned aerialvehicles (UAVs) are attracting attention for their ability to quickly collect information over a wide area at the site of a landslidedisaster. There have been several studies on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for disaster victim detection. However, it isdifficult to detect victims in debris and sediment using these methods, and we believe that not only visible information suchas cameras but also invisible information such as radio waves may make search operations more efficient. We are studyinga method of detecting victims by radio waves using a receiver terminal equipped with an unmanned aerial vehicle, assumingthat the victims have a radio terminal transmitting 920 MHz radio waves. In this study, we propose a method for estimatingthe horizontal distance to the transmitting point using the propagation characteristics at different altitudes for each horizontaldistance and a method for searching for the victim using the horizontal distance estimation method. The effect of the error inthe estimated distance to the transmitting point and the error in the received power on the estimated point using the proposedmethod was evaluated by simulations.
