Abstract(in English) We investigate the dependences of the Brillouin frequency shift (BFS) on strain and temperature in a ZBLAN fiber using spontaneous Brillouin scattering at 1,550 nm for sensing applications. It is shown that the BFS in a ZBLAN fiber shifts towards negative frequency direction with increasing strain and temperature with coefficients of -90.9 MHz/% and -1.6 MHz/K, respectively. The sensitivities in the ZBLAN fiber are -0.16 and -1.3 times the values in silica fibers.
