Abstract(in English) | The frequency of Internet use continues to increase in telework and remote work environments. Concurrently, there has been rapid advancement in the technology of mobile communication systems and wireless LANs, enabling large-capacity data transfer. However, in these emerging environments, ensuring information security remains crucial. Therefore, monitoring and defense through the utilization of Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPSs) have been considered as a viable option. Nevertheless, conventional IPSs have been used to monitor packets on networks within organizations. The operations of an IPS under diverse network environments requires processing that achieves both high-speed operations and low power consumption. This paper introduces the current status of IPSs that are useful in a variety of environments. In particular, we will introduce an example of the development of an IPS function that utilizes reconfigurable devices, and at the same time discuss the ongoing development of processors to overcome the problems of conventional reconfigurable devices. This processor has the characteristics of high-speed operations and low power consumption, and will be an important step toward realizing IPSs in a variety of environments. |
