Abstract(in English) | In table tennis, the ability to predict the trajectory of the ball is necessary to hit back a ball hit by an opponent and continue a rally. In order to hit the ball back, the presentation of the trajectory of the racket swing is considered to be useful in addition to the ability to predict the trajectory of the ball. In this study, we investigated a visual guide display system for table tennis swing assist. Specifically, we proposed a machine learning model that estimates the three-dimensional racket posture and velocity for hitting the ball back, using the ball position sequence and the ball return drop point as inputs. To assist the user in hitting the ball back, we prototyped a system that displays the estimated racket posture and velocity as a CG a virtual space. Through obejctive evaluation experiments, the proposed method has a ball's return rate of higher than the conventional method. In addition, the subjetive evaluation suggested that the swing guidance using the proposed method is effective for beginners to practice. |
