| Abstract(in English) | Face recognition abilities play an essential role in enabling successful communication with others. Traditionally, psychological studies of faces have generally focused on the specificity of face recognition processing when compared to other objects. In recent years, however, research on "individual differences in face recognition" has attracted much interest in the fields of psychology and neuroscience. In this talk, I will introduce research on "congenital prosopagnosia," a condition in which a person has face recognition problems even though there is no organic brain damage, and on the other hand, research on "super face recognizers," people who are outstandingly good at face recognition in the general population and discuss their future social applications. I would like to discuss future social applications. |
