| Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a varactor-loaded miniaturized dual-band frequency-tunable planar antenna fed by an L-probe. The proposed antenna consists of a shorted patch with a slit at the center and a feeding L-probe arranged in the same layer. Two varactor diodes are mounted in the vicinity of the shorted via and over the slit on the patch. The radiation patch is miniaturized by the shorted via and the slit and dual-band operation is realized by using two resonant modes with a length of a quarter wavelength and a half wavelength of the patch. Furthermore, the two resonant frequencies are controlled by a DC bias voltage applied for the varactors. In order to enhance the frequency-tunable range of the miniaturized frequency-tunable planar antenna, the frequency-tunable ranges of the two modes of the proposed antenna are designed as close as possible. In this paper, frequency-tunable performance as well as radiation properties of the proposed antenna is presented. |
