Rectification efficiency formula of RF voltage doubler with matching circuit.

Abstract(in English) This paper presents the total efficiency formula of RF voltage doubler with an LC matching circuit. To formulate the total efficiency, the voltage doubler with an LC matching circuit is expressed by the three behavior models: 1) rectification operation with the ideal waveform; 2) power loss of parasitic elements in the diode; and 3) impedance matching with LC element. Then, we formulate rectification efficiency or insertion loss for three behavior models. We design the diode's gate width for a voltage doubler with LC matching by the theoretical equation of the total efficiency. As a result, the theoretical total efficiency is in good agreement with the simulated one. In addition, the optimized gate width of 2000um calculated by the theoretical equation is close to the simulated one of 1700um.
