Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we analyzed the gaze behavior of subjects when observing walking animations. Our results showed that regardless of the attractiveness of the animation, men consistently showed the highest rate of fixation on the trunk. On the other hand, women showed a decrease in the rate of fixation on the body trunk and an increase in the rate of fixation on the legs while watching highly attractive animations. We found that the gender difference in gaze behavior was reflected in the attractiveness evaluation model constructed by structural equation modeling. This suggests that there is a gender difference in gaze behavior and cognitive model when evaluating attractiveness from dynamic nonverbal information such as body movement.
