| Abstract(in English) | In order to satisfy the expansion of communication demands in data center networks and support the development of beyond 5G networks, the high-capacity optical fiber communications are strongly required. The InP-based butt-joint waveguide photodetectors which we have developed are expected to make a significant contribution to the realization of high-capacity and low-power-consumption optical communication networks due to their characteristics of achieving both high-speed response and high responsivity. In this talk, we introduce our InP-based photodetectors integrated with 90° hybrids achieving high-speed and high responsivity for 130-GBaud coherent transmissions and high-responsivity avalanche photodiodes (APDs) for 50-GBaud intensity-modulation direct-detection (IMDD) transmissions. Finally, we discuss the future prospects of InP-based photodetectors. |
