Ultrafast Measurement of Spatial Modes employing Two-dimensional Linear Optical Sampling

Abstract(in English) With the combination of linear optical sampling a low-speed photodiode array, we measured the two-dimensional complex amplitudes of short pulses excited in the LP01 or LP11 mode of a two-mode fiber. The spatiotemporal complex amplitudes of these spatial modes were then observed with a temporal resolution of a few ps. Numerical spatial filtering (off-line processing) corresponding to each eigenmode was applied to the field complex amplitudes obtained from the photodiode array to successfully decompose them into their respective eigenmode components.
