Development of heat dissipation multi-layer media for magnetic hologram recording

Abstract(in English) Magnetic holograms, which are recorded the interference patterns as magnetization directions through thermomagnetic recording, are rewritable holograms. There is an issue that the interference information is lost due to the diffusion of excess heat generated during recording. To solve this problem, a multi-layer recording medium using TGG as heat dissipation layer was fabricated and could improve the diffraction efficiency, but Faraday rotation decreased probably due to the Ga diffusion into the Bi:RIG. In this work, Ta2O5 layer was inserted as diffusion barrier, and the insertion of Ta2O5 seemed effective to prevent the Ga diffusion.
