Abstract(in English) Traditionally, many chaff clouds use long and thin aluminum rectangular pieces. The volume of the cloud is electrically very large, and it is almost impossible to evaluate quantitatively by the method based on the so-called matrix operation. Therefore, in this paper, we theoretically analyze the scattered wave from a single metal rectangular piece, etc., and then consider what kind of scattered field, called radar cross-section, the whole chaff cloud in a limited space will be presented. When the chaff pieces are spread out in space, they are arranged in a mutually twisted state, so an appropriate coordinate transformation is required. This spatial arrangement of the chaff pieces relative to each other is generated by the standard statistical distribution. Using the chaff size, spatial density, etc. as parameters, it is possible to evaluate the characteristics of the chaff cloud.
