Information Acquisition Method of Curb Reflector Code by LiDAR

Abstract(in English) We have proposed a new information acquisition method for acquiring the distance to an object and the information embedded in reflector code with different reflectance of reflectors by using a LIDAR mounted on a vehicle. A combination of these reflectors is called a reflector code. In addition to installing reflector code on flat guardrails and walls, we have also studied installing reflector code on curved surfaces such as utility poles. This time, we propose a method to install a reflector code on the curb. This method enables vehicles to acquire road information from reflector code on various road environments. We introduce the results of the recognition of this reflector code by experiments using a vehicle.
