Abstract(in English) Millimeter-wave (mmW) has been an increasingly attractive research area in security solutions due to its ability to penetrate common clothes, to detect concealed objects without harm, and to offer high-resolution imaging. A 2D scan system with a dielectric lens operating in the W-band was used to obtain the scattering signal from the object; by analyzing the obtained amplitude and phase, a three-dimensional image reconstruction involving Fourier transformation can be performed. Several experiments have been performed for object image reconstruction. The reported study is intended for people screening in public areas, proving promising results.
