Measurement of human body blocking for inter-WBAN interference in user-dense condition using 2 by 2 elements patch array antenna at 15 GHz

Abstract(in English) Wireless body area network (WBAN) is a communication system between multiple devices on the human body. Inter-network interference is a problem of WBAN, especially in user-dense condition. Millimeter band WBAN have high linearity and high attenuation due to human body blocking.And directional antennas can be separate signal waves from interfering waves arriving from other users. Therefore, it is effective in suppressing inter-WBAN interference. We have studied prototype patch antennas and patch array antennas for millimeter wave band WBAN and have verified the separation of signal and interference by measurements. In this paper, we measure human body blocking using prototype antennas in user-dense condition as user density of 1.0 person/m^2 and random user locations in the measurement area. Measure communications between the head and toes, where signal and interference waves are difficult to separate. For the result, the interference power varies with user location and antenna directivity.
