Personal Behavior Analysis Technique Based on IoT Sensor Information for Improving HEMS Efficiency

Abstract(in English) In recent years, Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) have gained attention from an energy-saving perspective in residential buildings. However, current HEMS systems are capable of visualizing power consumption and conducting control towards target usage levels, but they do not implement personalized automatic control tailored to individual occupants. Previously, we have been investigating a control-oriented "Concierge HEMS" that detects individual occupants' characteristics from IoT sensor data to achieve both energy efficiency and comfort. In this study, as the first stage towards realizing the system, we report on the examination of a method for understanding individual behavior patterns from behavioral information obtained from IoT sensors and conducting simple device control through small-scale model experiments.
