Abstract(in English) Highly reliable communication networks are essential to operations of power infrastructure facilities, to ensure safety in electrical accidents, and to protect and maintain facilities. In recent years, the power network has been changing dramatically as more and more small power generation facilities from renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, and storage batteries are connected to the power grids, and large power plants are being decommissioned. The number of facilities related to the simultaneous balancing of supply and demand is increasing, and the flow of electric power is becoming more bi-directional and complex. At the same time, there is a demand for the stable operation of power grids as in the past, and expectations for highly reliable communications are increasing. In this report, we introduce a communication network concept (TOWER LINK?) that is envisioned for around 2040, which utilizes broadband fixed wireless and all-optical network. Furthermore, results of fundamental experiments on the effects of the existence of power lines in the propagation path of 100 GHz band are also reported.
