Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, income inequality has become an issue in developed countries such as Japan, and there is concern about the potential negative social and economic effects of widening income gap. Furthermore, fixed income stratification may limit social equality of opportunity and social mobility. To investigate income inequality, we use the Lengnick economic model. This model can reproduce the macroeconomic behavior of an entire economic community from the micro behavior of household agents and firm agents. However, there is almost no income inequality among agents, and the model does not allow us to discuss income inequality. Therefore, in this study, we introduce new rules into the Lengnick model to reproduce income inequality. In addition, we examine when income inequality occurs by changing the parameters of the agents.
