Analysis of Snort's impact due to DDoS attacks

Abstract(in English) In recent years, the number of DDoS attacks has been increasing.Tokuyama et al.[1][2] constructed an environment in which DDoS attacks could be evaluated with using virtualization technology.However, using the constructed evaluation environment, they succeeded in reproducing the Snort outage caused by a DDoS attack, the result of Suzuki et al.'s research[3], but they were unable to identify the cause of the outage.In this report, we conduct a DDoS attack that sends 30 million sessions to Snort, and measure the number of sessions received when Snort stops functioning.
