3D Full-Vectorial Bidirectional Beam Propagation Method for NRD guide

Abstract(in English) We newly developed 3D full-vectorial ?nite element bidirectional beam propagation method (3DBiBPM) for thee?cient design of nonradiative dielectric (NRD) waveguide components. The BiBPM is a ?eld-based propagation operatormethod that does not have to compute eigenpairs or diagonalizing characteristic matrices. In addition, the propagation operatormethod can solve 3D problem as 2D problem. So it may advanatageous to solve periodic or uniformed sturucture in propaga-tion-axes. We show the analysis results of NRD guide with airgap and NRD guide with a sapphire resonator. In this paper, wedemonstrate the validity of 3DBiBPM by comparing two analysis results with 3DFEM.
