Evaluation of Availability of 300-GHz-Band Wireless Fronthaul deployed by tree topology during Torrential Rain

Abstract(in English) In this study, we investigated the availability of 300-GHz-band fronthaul during torrential rain by simulation. We divided 5-km square Tokyo area 22x22 and deployed fronthaul links by tree topology using automatic planning algorithm in the area. Then, we evaluated availability of fronthaul links using actual rainfall intensity data. Simulation results indicate that the average percentage of fronthaul links with less than -43dBm of received power required for 100Gbit/s data transmission during 30 minutes of localized heavy rain was 20.5%, and the availability of the fronthaul links for the whole year of 2020 was 99.9962%.
