Indoor localization considering wireless LAN access point deployment and Received Signal Strength Indicator

Abstract(in English) Our laboratory is developing an indoor localization system using received signal strength obtained from wireless LAN APs at Toyohashi University of Technology. In a previous study[1], localization using WCL on corridors achieves an average error of less than 5 m. In this paper, we evaluate the applicability of indoor localization using multilateration in the same environment as in the previous study[1]. The experimental results show the usefulness of the method of creating a path loss model for each AP, employing the problem of Apollonius to estimate the location, and reducing the effect of the collinearity of the AP deployment.
