Abstract(in English) In recent years, the 5G base station covering dual-band modulated signals are being developed. We propose an arbitrary order intermodulation distortion (IMD) suppression method for dual-input power amplifiers (PAs) by controlling the phase differences of dual-band signals. In the proposed method, the phase differences of dual-band signals are controlled so that an arbitrary order IMD can be vectorially cancelled out at the output combiner of the dual-input PA. The orders of IMDs can be selected for the low and high frequency side separately with simple phase control of the dual-band signals. The operating principle of the proposed IMD suppression method is described, and the phase-difference conditions for IMD suppression is derived. The IMD3 of the dual-input PA was improved to -56.7dBc and satisfied the specification of ACPR for 5G/beyond 5G/6G systems by the proposed method as the measurement results.
