| Abstract(in English) | There are many biological rhythms that have diverse periods including the heartbeat, cell division cycles, circadian rhythms, and menstrual rhythms. The functional significance of these various biological rhythms remains to be elucidated. Here, biological rhythm phenomena associated with various biological functions are introduced, and a model-based interpretation of their generation and control mechanisms is described. A possible hypothesis on the significance of these phenomena is also presented. |
