Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a resistive circuit with a DC power supply voltage of 100 V and a circuit current of 10 A, a silver contact pair with airflow ejection structure was separated at a constant speed and break arcs were generated. In order to set the position of arc ignition on the contact surfaces to a certain position, experiments were conducted with the central axes of the cathode and anode contacts aligned, with the central axis of the cathode shifted upward from the central axis of the anode, and with the radius of curvature of the cathode contact surface was changed. Arc duration, voltage waveform of the break arcs, and moving characteristics of the break arcs were investigated by high-speed camera images, and the following results were obtained. When the center axis of the cathode was shifted upward by 0.1mm from the center axis of the anode, the break arcs sometimes werelengthened in a direction other than upward, but when the cathode was shifted by 0.2mm, the break arcs were lengthened upward. When the radius of curvature of the cathode contact surface was reduced, the arc duration was shorter than when the cathode center axis was displaced 0.1mm and 0.2mm upward from the anode center axis.
