Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The three probability distributions, namely, n distribution, q distribution, and m distribution devised by Minoru Nakagami in his short radio-wave propagation research about eighty years ago remain active successively today as basic distributions of multipath propagation models for mobile communications. Since these are monumental distributions originating in Japan, I am writing this article in the hope that the young researchers in the antennas and propagation field will know its history. The technology used in the modelling is not only part of history, but also contains important hints that will open a vista for carrying out our researches. As the first in this series, we will take up the n distribution which is now called as Nakagami-Rice distribution.
