A study on SSVEP based VR-BCI to move avatars in VR space

Abstract(in English) An SSVEP-based VR-BCI system for persons who have a disability of body movement is proposed. However, a controlled target of the conventional VR-BCI system does not include an avatar in VR space. In this paper, we investigate the basis of SSVEP-based VR-BCI to control an avatar in VR space. The transparent visual stimulus is employed to evoke the control operation in our proposal. The performance of proposed VR-BCI is evaluated using ITR and discrimination rate of SSVEP. We show an effect of a combination of reference data for CCA on ITR and discrimination rate.
