Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A spatial haptic guidance presentation system that aims to enable visually impaired people to quickly grasp three-dimensional information such as teaching materials and works of art, and to convey the trajectory of objects moving in 3D space, such as ball games. So far, we have developed a haptic guidance presentation method that conveys two-dimensional information such as maps and graphs by mechanically pulling the finger in combination with active touch, and we verified that system is effective in understanding various contents. The proposed system expands the function of haptic guidance from 2D to 3D. This report shows the design guidelines and requirements of the spatial haptic guidance presentation system, as well as the overview of the system configuration. Next, we discuss the results of an interview survey on predictions of the effects of this method on grasping various 3D objects and the trajectory of moving the object in space, and on requirements for this system. In addition, we describe the future development schedule and the policy of evaluating spatial position recognition and memory which are important in constructing the system. |
