| Abstract(in English) | In some mountainous areas of Shimane Prefecture, it has become difficult to maintain farmland and regions due to the declining birthrate and aging population, as well as the outflow of young people out of the prefecture. In order to sustain the livelihoods of people in these areas, it is thought that industries that can be combined with agriculture are necessary. The authors have verified that water-based EDLC can be made using materials that can be used in mountainous areas such as charcoal, iron plate, paper, and potassium hydroxide (KOH) aqueous solution, and with small equipment. Using the prototype EDLC, we have constructed a power storage system such as outdoor LED lighting and an electric fence, and have shown that the prototype water-based EDLC can be put into practical use. In this report, we report the characteristics of charcoal EDLC, deterioration phenomena when used as a power storage system, and the possibility of production in mountainous areas. |
