Study on vital signal detection using millimeter-wave radars and infrared sensors

Abstract(in English) In recent years, the development of millimeter-wave radar-based vital sensing technology has been advancing worldwide. The need to monitor the elderly is increasing in developed countries, and millimeter-wave radar technology is attracting much interest as a technology that can remotely/noncontactly monitor vital signs while protecting the privacy of elderly residents. Non-contact vital sensing using millimeter-wave radar alone has limitations in the amount of computation and robust detection performance. In this paper, we propose a robust non-contact vital sensing algorithm that can detect vitals with low computational complexity by constructing a fusion system that combines millimeter-wave radars and infrared sensors.
