Abstract(in English) | To accommodate a large number of users efficiently, grant-free non-orthogonal multiple access (GF-NOMA) has gained much attention. Although it can support many users while reducing transmission delay significantly thanks to grant-free transmission, the base station has to perform active user detection and channel estimation to recover the transmitted data. Moreover, due to the nature of grant-free transmission, the base station cannot know the activity ratio and all users' large-scale fading coefficients in advance, and it cannot perfectly synchronize with all users in time and frequency. To this end, in this paper, we propose a scheme for performing active user detection and channel estimation without any side information in GF-NOMA under timing offsets. Throughout computer simulations, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme can estimate the channels with comparable accuracy as the conventional one and accurately perform active user detection. |
