Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Unpredictable random number generation is an essential technology for cryptographic applications. Quantum random number generators, which generate random numbers utilizing randomness guaranteed by quantum mechanics, have attracted much attention in recent years. A promising quantum randomness for an entropy source is vacuum fluctuation, which can be detected using a homodyne setup with a laser source and a beam splitter. Quantum random number generators based on vacuum fluctuation can easily and stably realize high-speed random number generation. In this paper, as a PD report of OFC2023, we report a spatially multiplexed quantum random number generator based on vacuum fluctuation using a single semiconductor laser diode and an integrated beam splitter. The random number generator obtains four vacuum fluctuations over a wide bandwidth of more than 2 GHz. Subsequently, random numbers are extracted in parallel using an FPGA circuit. A real-time random number generation rate of 50-Gbit/s is achieved. |
