A Method for Estimating Complex Dielectric Constant of Water Dependent on Temperature and Pressure by Molecular Dynamics Method

Abstract(in English) The complex permittivity of biological tissues is an essential physical constant for revealing the interaction between living organisms and electromagnetic fields. If the complex permittivity at the spatial scale of organelles in cells can be clarified, it would be useful for evaluating electromagnetic field exposure at the cellular level. In this study, as a preliminary examination of a method to estimate the complex permittivity at the organelle scale using molecular dynamics simulations, the relaxation time of water was estimated using molecular dynamics simulations. A more efficient method than previous research was proposed by utilizing the molecular dynamics simulation software GROMACS in this study. With this proposed method, the relaxation time of water at 300K temperature and standard pressure was estimated to be 7.7ps, which is very close to the literature value of 7.9ps. The estimation of water's relaxation time under different temperature and pressure conditions was also attempted using the proposed method.
