Evacuation Support Systems for the elderly

Abstract(in English) In recent years, high number of elderly people have become victims of natural disasters, and countermeasures are required. In order to reduce the number of victims of natural disasters, this paper examines an evacuation support system for the elderly that takes into account the communication of disaster prevention information, guidance to evacuation centers by taking into account the physical characteristics of the elderly, and safety confirmation. Evacuation routes are calculated using the Dijkstra method, which reflects the physical characteristics of the elderly in the cost of each link in the road network using AHP. Information is presented to the elderly using smartwatch. The system was demonstrated on subject who were able to use the stairs and subject who had difficulty using the stairs, and the operation of the system was verified. The results of basic experiments show the availability of the system.
