Effect of acoustic streaming on water surface displacement induced by acoustic radiation pressure

Abstract(in English) Acoustic radiation pressure incoming ultrasound to the interface between water and air causes water surface displacement. We have studied the application of this phenomenon to ultrasound power and sound pressure distribution measurements. However, not only radiation pressure but also the impinging force of acoustic streaming on the water surface may affect the surface displacement. This study evaluated the effect of acoustic streaming on water surface displacement. To evaluate this effect, we focus on the differences between time scales of acoustic radiation pressure and streaming. Experimental results indicated that the effect of acoustic streaming may not be negligible on displacement.
