Abstract(in English) In a virtualization infrastructure such as HCI (Hyper Converged Infrastructure), which builds a system by arranging multiple x86 servers and using virtual machines based on virtualization software, it is common to implement storage functions by pooling the physical disks embedded in the servers using storage virtualization technology. Since a plurality of virtual machines access a server built-in disk, when the I/O load of one server built-in disk becomes very high, it spreads to a virtual machine group accessing the disk, and the I/O performance of the virtual machine group deteriorates. To avoid performance degradation, you need to find out which virtual machines are overloaded with internal disks, but not just the amount of I/O they issue. In this paper, we propose a technique for estimating a virtual machine with a high impact on an internal disk under a high I/O load by using information easily available from a virtualization foundation.
