Improvement of IoT-based Low-cost Trap Hunting System

Abstract(in English) In recent years, the government is trying to improve the efficiency of animal hunting. The introduction of IoT devices in trap hunting is also promoted. However, IoT traps currently available on the market are expensive to install and operate. The authors developed a low-cost, self-made system for trap hunting, which was reported in our previous paper. We confirmed that the system can provide the same or better functionality at a lower cost than existing products. However, the system has a drawback of short continuous operation time due to high power consumption. Therefore, we solved this problem by replacing the high functionality and high power consumption controller with a low functionality but low power consumption controller. After the improvement, we conducted an actual hunting experiment. This paper reports the improvement of the controller and the findings obtained through the hunting experiments.
