| Abstract(in English) | Punishments for defection and/or rewards for cooperation in the evolution of cooperation has recently been drawing attention as mechanisms for the evolution of cooperation in social groups. Punishments and rewards often accompany some cost, and thus are disadvantageous from the viewpoint of fitness for survival. Regarding punishments, Boyd et al. (2003) showed that punishment with altruistic costs can evolve in populations where group selection can occur. In this study, we examine how the existence of rewards and/or punishments affect the evolution of cooperative behavior in social groups where group selection takes place. |
