Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study aims to analyze the factors and processes of occurrence, continuing, and resolution of pluralistic ignorance to design a social system that mitigates pluralistic ignorance. We created a model based on social feedback, assuming estimation of opinion distributions and conflict avoidance, and conducted simulations. The results suggest that self-reinforcement of conflict avoidance and misestimation of others’ opinions results in pluralistic ignorance. Also, we found the process is irreversible and difficult to resolve.
