Performance Evaluations of Self-organized Power Selection in GF-NOMA for mMTC Unider Limited Transmission Power

Abstract(in English) This paper evaluates the throughput of the self-organized power selection method in the grant-free power domain non-orthogonal multiple access (GF-NOMA) for the massive machine-type communications (mMTC). GF-NOMA enables a base station to decode multiple packets from terminals at the same time-frequency resource, depending on selecting a power resource, i.e., a power level. Our self-organized power selection method enables each terminal to attract a vacant level. However, mMTC requires power constraints, which prevent each terminal from selecting an appropriate level. This paper evaluates the impacts of the power constraint on the throughput of our self-organized method in GF-NOMA. Our simulation results highlighted that our self-organized method achieved 20% higher maximum throughput than an existing method.
