Abstract(in English) We report the achievement of self-coupling between multi-channels by forming optical waveguides by irradiation of near-infrared light. Previously, self-coupling of light-induced self-written (LISW) optical waveguide has only been reported for single-channel interconnections formed by irradiation of ultraviolet light, which has hardly propagated in silicon waveguides. We have succeeded in forming a multi-channel self-coupled LISW optical waveguide using 4-channel-core fiber by irradiation of near-infrared (NIR) light, which is highly transparent to silicon waveguides. We have demonstrated that the insertion loss is 0.3 dB or less.
