A study on tracking maximum energy conversion point in parametric pendulums

Abstract(in English) Parametric pendulum is a mechanical pendulum whose axis rotational is excited in the vertical direction by an external vibration. The periodic rotation of the parametric pendulum corresponds to a conversion of the one-dimensional excitation into its rotational motion. In this study, a rotating pendulum vibration energy converter is proposed as a system that converts vibration energy into electrical energy by periodic rotation of the parametric pendulum. Because the dynamics of this system involves the nonlinearity of the parametric pendulum, conventional maximum power point tracking methods cannot be applied to this system. In this paper, we clarify a control method that achieves the maximum energy conversion of this system.
