Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is estimated that Parkinson’s disease (PD) affects 150,000 people in Japan, and the number of patients increases as society gets older. The importance of engineering support for early detection and effective treatment of this neurodegenerative disease has been recognized. In this study, we used transcribed data of medical interviews conducted on healthy subjects and PD patients, and constructed a classifier based on pre-trained language models such as BERT to detect PD patients by capturing the features of their speech content when compared to that of healthy subjects. The transcribed data of the medical interview used in this study consisted of multiple questions asked by the doctor to encourage the subject to speak freely, and a classifier based on a pre-trained language model was used to verify which questions were effective in detecting PD patients. In addition, we proposed an input format for pre-trained models when multiple response sentences are used as input, and investigated methods that can effectively handle multiple sentences.
