Abstract(in English) | In this study, we propose an output monitoring system for transmitting array antennas of a space solar power test satellite. For long-distance wireless power transfer, the transfer system is required to have the functionality to detect the failures of the transmitting antennas in real-time. In the proposed system, the subarray unit as the transmitting array antenna is composed of 2$times$2 rectangular microstrip patch antenna elements and a monitoring probe antenna on the subarray antenna surface. After designing the subarray with the monitoring antenna, we numerically show that the proposed system can perfectly identify all combinations of failed antenna elements when the total number of failed elements is given. We also numerically show that the proposed system can identify specific combinations of failed antenna elements even when the number of failed antenna elements is not given. We fabricate the subarray with the monitoring antenna and experimentally show that the proposed monitoring system can detect the failures of antenna elements. |
