Abstract(in English) | 5G has been commercialized since around 2020 all over the world, but millimeter wave (mmWave) has not yet been fully utilized. However, along with mid-band, mmWave has very high potential in terms of high bit rate, large capacity, and low delay. In this presentation, current situation of 5G in Japan is reviewed along with the global 5G deployment. Then, radio licenses and deployment status of mmWave in the world are reviewed, and possibilities of mmWave in terms of applications and traffic capacity expected for 5G are discussed. After that, Ericsson's approach to mmWave with radio products will be introduced. Finally, measures to promote mmWave from now on are proposed. |
